Berlin 17-23 november 2003

This project is a continuation of the artistic work which produced the movie
//I Malakief//.(*) This film will be shown during the Rencontres Internationales Paris-Berlin (11-24 november 2003 in Berlin).
The environment of  //I Malakief// was the Sahara desert: no spectators present, only  2 artists and a camera, and lots of sand.

For .  k  N  O  W  H  E  R  E  . the environmental setting is a big city (Berlin): lots of people, objects and sounds, present just because they are there.

Following the same conceptual guidelines derived from the ´Body without Organs´ the project will have again 2 phases: the LIVE performance(s) and lateron a movie (which is not a registration).

Basic setup: Johannes Bergmark (surrealist, ´materiel musiker´), VLK M (dancer ´butoh-freestyle´) and Pat Hillaire (performer/video artist) perform at 10 public locations somewhere in the city of Berlin; half of the locations are chosen at random and the other half can be well-known places.

At the locations they will perform, improvising within a set of rules.

. the performers do not know where they are going and when.

. they cannot bring any tools/instruments with them

. at 5 locations (at random) they are blindfolded

. their costumes are chosen (at random)

. when they arrive at a location they get 10 minutes to explore the situation,
after that the performance time (of 30 minutes) starts.

. 5 times out of 10 it will be "Live Only", i.e. no recording of sound and/or image.
sound and image are treated separately; which means e.g. that sometimes sound recording is allowed and image recording isn´t.

the event(s) will/can be broadcasted live on television.
. the broadcasting obliges also to the "live only" rule.
when images of the performance cannot be shown, maybe the environment
will be portraited or the audience.
when there cannot be sound....
