'How do you make yourself a dancing Body Without Organs'

as created and guided (sometimes) by    frank van de ven & rolf meesters (.F&R.) 
 
 

may '97    week of preliminary research, based on a thesis of Claudia Flammin confronting the work of Min Tanaka and his performance group Maijuku with the concept of the Body Without Organs as found in ' 1000 Plateaux' by Deleuze and Guattari. end of '97   .F&R. design the concept for an intensive research project.      start of weekly practical and theoretical sessions  concentrated on aspects and sidelines of a dancing Body Without Organs feb '98    start of the coöperation with robin brouwer, philosopher well-informed about Guattari and Deleuze.  

may '98    2 weeks research with 15 international participants, mainly dancers/performers, on 'discoding' and 'fragmenting' the habitual body, 'imitating' and 'becoming' the other, 'facialities', experimentation without interpretation, nomadism.
 

 sep '98 creation of: "Kaleidoscope", a performance-machine-performance    "Everything is..", 6 performers and a videocamera in a park    "Unknown Territory" a non-performance in urban environment

creation of: "A Multiplicity Machine", instant event for 18 participants    and:"OUDAPO", version #1 of a game, for 3 movers and a musician feb '99 event with (40) unprepared participants at the University of Amsterdam created by .F&R. feb '99    "00.00 n times degree zero" performance at '1000 Plateaus- Maps for the next milennium', Berlin may '99 combi robin brouwer -philosophical lecture and frank van de ven -dance at 'Deleuze and Politics' (Amsterdam) may '99    several bUG performances by frank van de ven (Amsterdam)
